Our experience with realty of Maine was mixed. There were times when it was unclear to us who the agent was working for - us or the mortgage broker, for example. (We were urged to use a local broker by the agent only to have a sub-par experience with the local broker, who was disorganized and whom I cannot recommend to others.) There were also times when our agent asked, “so what do you want to do?” Whereas I’d have preferred she present options with pros and cons. In addition, our agent seemed unwilling/unable to push back on the seller’s agent at times, citing that he had more experience than she did. That’s not something I wanted to hear. I felt like I had to be much more of an advocate for our interests than I have had to be in other transactions with agents.
