About the Owners -
Julie Sleeper -COO/Co-Owner
As a local to the Bangor area, Julie understands the importance of developing relationships and staying connected to the community. Julie received her degree from the University of Maine with a concentration in Psychology and Business before devoting decades of work to the service industry in multiple capacities, developing her passion of exceeding client expectations.
As a military spouse of twenty-one years, deployment travels took Julie abroad and to various locations across the United States. While stationed in Tennessee she served as the Family Readiness Group Leader and supported many families, spouses, and parents of deployed soldiers. She credits this experience for allowing her to better understand the diverse needs of every family situation, especially during the moving process.
In 2010, Julie returned home to Bangor, this time with her two daughters. Julie then started her own photography business with a focus on wedding, portrait, and real estate before starting work at Realty of Maine in 2016 as a Digital Brand Manager. Within a short time, that position grew to become Marketing Director and Compliance Officer.
A few years later, when Realty of Maine founder Dave Sleeper announced his plans to retire, Julie celebrated the opportunity to partner with her sister-in-law, Co-Owner and Designated Broker Beth Sleeper Roybal - leading the company into the next generation of ownership and a new era of assisting clients with their real estate goals. The pair took over leadership of the company in 2020.
Along with her passion for helping others, Julie loves spending time with her daughters, her fur babies, and educating and supporting those affected by Rett Syndrome.
Beth Sleeper Roybal - Designated Broker/Co-Owner
Beth is an experienced Real Estate Broker, and Maine local who grew up in the Greater Bangor region. Driven by honor, commitment, and a desire to help others succeed, her vision is to support the team of real estate agents at Realty of Maine and make dreams come true – for both buyers and sellers!
Beth shares more than a decade of direct real estate knowledge with Realty of Maine, having worked as a Broker in Virginia before returning home. Prior to her career in real estate, Beth proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps for eight years, during which she married her Marine husband, and began raising their family of six children. With her family dedicating over 28 years of combined service to the military, Beth also oversaw the homeschool education of her children. After her youngest began college, Beth and her husband relocated back home to Maine.
Building upon a legacy of generosity and high standards that formed Reality of Maine, Beth celebrated the opportunity to partner with her sister-in-law, Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer Julie Sleeper, in 2020 – leading the company into the next generation of ownership.
In addition to her professional commitments, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband of over thirty-six years, their six children, “oodles of grandchildren," and extended family. She deeply values her family and building relationships.

About Dave Sleeper - Founder of Realty of Maine

A former nuclear test manager at Groton, Connecticut based Electric Boat, Dave Sleeper began selling real estate in Bangor, Maine in 1979. In 1986, Dave and a partner formed a real estate company that eventually evolved into Realty of Maine. In 2015, the agency triumphed in statewide sales that totaled $222 million - the fifth consecutive year of double digit year over year increases. Dave heads up a thriving statewide network that continues to create successful connections between buyers and sellers. He looks forward to Realty of Maine continuing to serve the Maine market in the years ahead under the new leadership of his daughter, Beth Sleeper Roybal, and his daughter-in-law, Julie Sleeper.
