Belfast Homes – A Small Town in the Heart of Midcoast Maine
The Belfast area was first discovered over 200 years ago by John Mitchell, a New Hampshire resident, traveling by ship from Boston to points east. The town was founded in 1773. During the 1800s, the prosperous shipbuilders and merchants built beautiful Greek Revival, Colonial and Victorian mansions throughout the area. Generations of lobstermen work the same waters that their forefathers did. Local shop keepers ensure that the area's small-town New England charm carries on while a healthy economy supported by tourism and the creative arts continues to lure new residents and businesses to our area at a steady pace.
In September 2008, Belfast was named one of the 10 Coolest Small Towns in the U.S. by BudgetTravel.com. The good food, culture and quality of life usually reserved for larger, metropolitan cities can be found right here in this coastal Maine gathering of artisans aplenty.

About Kathy

Kathy has lived in the mid-coast Maine area for over 30 years with her husband/builder Ruffy. Following Ruffy’s reputation for building quality homes, Kathy has had her pulse on the real estate market for quite some time. Together they built a “Ruffy Home,” as they are known locally, on the island of Jamaica where they have vacationed for 20 years along with their children. Kathy is a former piano teacher and her daughter owns a local business. Below is her take on mid-coast Maine real estate.

“Perhaps you’ve imagined what it would be like to live in a small, coastal town in mid-coast Maine. The mid-coast area of Maine offers a unique and refreshing alternative to all that lies to our south. Wrapped around the second largest salt-water bay on the East Coast of America, a ribbon of fishing communities and small coastal towns enjoy a lifestyle that has all but disappeared.
Belfast, in particular, and the surrounding communities, is emerging as perhaps the last great getaway from the crowds and congestion. Come take a look and see if you agree. Let me help you find the ideal home for you in the mid-coast area of Maine.
If you live in the area already, and are thinking of selling your property, I have access to Maine’s Statewide Multiple Listing Service and will see that your property will receive as much exposure as possible. Please call me at (207) 338-6800, EXT. 23.”

“Everything went very well. Kathy is a real trouper. We have been coming here for the last 5-6 years looking at all types of properties. Kathy hung in there with us and we finally found it. We would not think of dealing with anyone else but Kathy when it comes to real estate.”   APRIL 2016

“As you know, this was an estate sale that we had to handle from NJ. We were at the funeral home and I mentioned to someone that it was critical that we find a trustworthy, hard-working real estate agent to sell my father-in-law’s home. Kathy was referred to us and it could not have gone better. When Kathy had to go away, Edna stepped in and did the heavy lifting. She was invaluable in the negotiation and back end work with the other agent. She also helped me keep the grass mowed and the snow plowed. This was a bit of a white elephant property and the first two deals fell. Edna reassured me she was not going to abandon me! Then, a cash buyer came into the picture. We could not have been more thrilled. Both Kathy and Edna were professional and so caring. We could not have asked for more. We would recommend Kathy and Edna to everyone. If we were in Maine, we would come to your office and tell all your agents they should be like these two.”  Dec 2015
