The great fire of 1911, sparked by embers from a hayshed, destroyed much of downtown, but did not stop the citizens of Bangor from re-building. Most of the present downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the “Great Fire Historic District,” while the portion that survived the fire is the 'West Market Square Historic District.”

"I would like to thank your agency and especially Jesse Daniels for helping me with my purchase. I had been looking for a property in Maine for years and had taken a break for a long time and started looking again and found Jesse's listing. The reason I had stopped looking was whenever I saw a listing or called an agent looking for properties I was not called back or called back once and given the line that the property was sold (even though it was continually listed for years) or they would get info, which never came even with repeated calls.Regardless, sometimes calling back a client and treating them nicely works! Jesse was great and I feel he went out of his way to make this a great transaction.I will refer him and your agency to others and consider you for any further purchases." Dec 2016
